Lion

creativity, pride, radiance

Overview

**I create.** The luminous center: pride, generosity, the warmth that wants to be seen and celebrated.

Mythology

The Nemean Lion, slain by Heracles as the first of his twelve labors, was an invincible beast whose hide could not be pierced by any weapon. Heracles strangled it with his bare hands and wore its impenetrable skin as armor. Zeus immortalised the lion in the sky. The lion is also the animal of solar deities across cultures -- from the Egyptian sphinx to the Mesopotamian Ishtar, who rode lions -- representing regal power and divine radiance.

Interprétation

Leo is a fire sign ruled by the Sun, oriented toward self-expression, creativity, and the desire to be seen and appreciated. Planets here operate with warmth, generosity, and a natural instinct for drama and performance. Leo at its best is the courageous heart that leads and inspires; at its shadow it can become self-centred, demanding of admiration, or unable to share the spotlight.
