Mercure

Mercury, the fleet-footed messenger of the gods, carried dispatches between Olympus and the underworld without belonging fully to either realm. His Greek counterpart Hermes was the patron of travellers, merchants, thieves, and orators -- a trickster figure who excelled at crossing boundaries. The winged sandals and caduceus are his emblems, symbols of rapid movement and the power to mediate opposites.

Mercury rules the rational mind: perception, language, logic, and the capacity to gather and transmit information. In a natal chart it describes how a person thinks, speaks, and learns -- whether the mind moves quickly or methodically, whether communication is playful or precise. Mercury also governs short journeys, commerce, and all forms of exchange, from conversation to trade.
