Opposition

An opposition forms when two planets are approximately 180 degrees apart, occupying opposite signs of the zodiac. The two energies pull in contrary directions, creating a dynamic of awareness through contrast. Oppositions often manifest through relationships, as the qualities projected outward onto others are in fact unintegrated parts of the self. The challenge is to hold the tension between the two poles and find a conscious balance, rather than over-identifying with one and rejecting the other.
