Square

A square is formed when two planets are approximately 90 degrees apart, usually in signs of the same modality (cardinal, fixed, or mutable). It represents friction between two energies that each insist on their own direction, generating internal tension that demands resolution. Squares are among the most dynamic aspects in a chart: they are uncomfortable, but that discomfort drives development. The area of life indicated by a square is rarely easy, but it is often where the most tangible growth and achievement occur.
